Dr Nigel Menogue’s medical expertise has evolved from the assessment, treatment, conflict resolution and prevention of work-related injuries.
Dr Menogue obtained a Masters Degree in Sports Medicine in 2002 following a Civilian Contract with the Australian Defence Force from 2000 to 2001, based at HMAS Waterhen, Waverton, Sydney.
The primary role was to study injury patterns & prevention among the Royal Australian Navy Clearance Divers; including operational management of these divers in East Timor, Solomon Islands and Bougainville – from Sydney.
This role was enhanced with trips to Aboriginal settlements in Northern Territory attending to medical needs of Indigenous Australians.
Dr Menogue obtained practical on-field Sports Medicine experience managing Rugby Union, Women’s Basketball and Fencing teams.
In the last several years, Dr Menogue has been working a mixture of Aviation and Underwater medicine, acute injury management, medical examinations and Medico-legal assessments (particularly as an Assessor and a member of the Review Panel with the Motor Accidents Authority).
